FLOW™ Technology

FLOW technology is a set of sensors and physiological models. It was developed entirely in-house by HEALBE, is patented, and is used in all GoBe smart bands to count calories and estimate water balance.

Using a high-precision bioimpedance sensor, the smart band continuously tracks fluid dynamics in tissues by measuring their resistance. From this data, FLOW extracts signal sequences associated with water movement as cells take up nutrients.

This way, GoBe counts exactly the calories your body absorbs as cells take them from the bloodstream.

Keep in mind that different stages of digestion take different amounts of time, which in turn depends on the composition of the food and how it is prepared:

• 1–5 minutes — eating and passage through the esophagus;
• 2–4 hours — processing by digestive juices in the stomach;
• 3–5 hours — absorption in the small intestine;
• 10 hours to 1–2 days — absorption and dehydration of food in the intestines.
